DENISE BOLIN

Artist Biography

Artist Denise Bolin was born in Drumheller and attended St. Anthony’s School (1 to 9) and Drumheller Composite High School (10 to 12). A move to Peace River in ‘88 for a short time initiated her formal art education through Grande Prairie College.  Moving to Red Deer in ’89 the courses transferred and completed the Art and Design Program at Red Deer College. Two student awards and a Study Grant motivated her to stay artistically involved with a women’s art group. They exhibited locally in Red Deer galleries and at community events. Inspiration is captured from nature, especially the human figure.  Medium of choice is charcoal/conte/pastels and clay. Recently returning to the valley where her artistic desires originated has renewed that creative drive.
